WSC Optional Entry Categories

All teams shall be eligible for the guaranteed purse based on their paid in full entry. Optional entries are available as follows.

Optional Entry (Open Division)

This open division is open for all to fish. Any level of competitor may compete against the best of the best.

Optional Entry (Non-Professionals)

The three star division was created as an additional optional entry targeted toward those who love to fish and who's goal is to compete against their peers. You must qualify to compete in the three star division.

The qualifications are:

  • No team member may have competed in more than four (4) sailfish tournaments in the preceding 12 month period.
  • No team member may have competed and finished in the top 3 places of any sailfish tournament two or more times in the past two years.

*The tournament committee, as its sole discretion, reserves the right to determine any teams eligibility for this category based on keeping with the spirit of its purpose*

Created to benefit a charity of your choice. This Two Star optional entry division was created to benefit both the WSC Charitable Foundation and your Charitable Foundation of choice.

Entry is a minimum of $5,000 (which is tax-deductible) and the name of your favorite 501c3 Charity!

Total amount raised is split, 50% will go to the WSC Charitable Foundation and will be presented by the 1st place winner in their name and the remaining 50% will be split 50/30/20 and will be awarded to the top 3 Winners' charity of choice.

Two Star Prizes:

  • First Place Trophy and recognition at event
  • Second Place Trophy and recognition at event
  • Third Place Trophy and recognition at event

* The winner's charity of choice must be an IRS qualified charity as determined by Section 501(c) (3) of the IRS code and is subject to the approval by the World Sailfish Championship Charitable Foundation.*

Women's Division

One Star Prizes:

  • First Place Trophy and recognition at event
  • Second Place Trophy and recognition at event
  • Third Place Trophy and recognition at event

Junior Division

One Star Prizes:

  • First Place Trophy and recognition at event
  • Second Place David Wirth Circle Hook Pendant
  • Third Place David Wirth Circle Hook Pendant
